Surrounding Area

Situated in the crofting township of Borneskitaig, Croft41 is set in a stunning location overlooking the Minch and Outer Hebrides. Ideally placed on the North East peninsula, Trotternish, it is the perfect spot from which to explore the whole Island.

The surrounding area offers some of the most dramatic scenery on the Island, within a short distance the Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, and the spectacular Trotternish Ridge can be found, these are ideal areas for walkers and the awe inspiring peaks are a photographers dream and have featured in many globally renowned films. The Skye Museum of Island Life is located in the vicinity and is well worth a visit to see the traditional thatched cottages and the way of life of a bygone age as is the Dinosaur Museum in Staffin where you can be directed to the location of real dinosaur footprints.

The local jetty at Camus Mor provides kayak or swimming access for the adventurous or just a place to explore the beach for driftwood or go crabbing with kids!!

The nearest village is Uig which is 6 miles away, there you will find a small selection of local shops for your immediate needs, a petrol station, café, pub and the ferry to the Outer Hebrides. Portree the Island’s capital is 20 miles away and contains a supermarket, restaurants, gift shops, doctor and dentist.
